El Segundo Rapid (Class III) - Royal Gorge

You’d probably never guess it, but El Segundo is the second rapid we encounter on a Royal Gorge trip. It’s a short and easy class III rapid requiring rafters line up in the center of the river and continue this route between two big rocks on either side. This is where we find the biggest drop in the rapid as well. High water or low water, we nearly always take a splash or two as we continue to hone our paddling skills.
