Combine three popular Colorado activities in one easy package! There’s so much to do in this package we give you two days to enjoy it all! First, check in at the Echo Canyon River Expeditions office for your Bighorn Sheep Canyon half-day trip, offering about seven class III rapids. We often spot Bighorn Sheep grazing the rocky slopes as we splash through the whitewater of this scenic family-class section. Echo will then serve you a delicious buffet style lunch along the banks of the river at our private river landing before bringing you back to the rafting office and your vehicle. Be sure to check out the photos to see who was paddling and who was hanging on to the raft!
Use the Echo Canyon changing rooms to change into attire appropriate for trail riding; long pants and closed toe shoes. You will then drive about four miles to the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. Present your tickets and take a walk across the highest suspension bridge in the world as you make your way to the Watts Mule Company located on the north rim of the Royal Gorge. Your wrangler will greet you and get you ready for your one hour mule ride on the trails of the beautiful north rim of the gorge. In case you were wondering, mules are a cross between a male donkey and a female horse; they are sure-footed animals preferred when negotiating narrow rocky trails like we find in this area. Watt Mule Company mules are all trained with principals of natural horsemanship and are gentle and experienced in working with new riders. Helmets are available free of charge if preferred.
After your mule ride you are free to explore at your own pace the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, the most visited theme park and wildlife park in the Pikes Peak Region. This historical landmark features scenic beauty and natural attractions as well as the world's highest Suspension Bridge, the world's longest single-span Aerial Tram and the world's steepest Incline Railway. The Skycoaster is available at an additional cost. See it all the same day, or return the next day using your same ticket. Hours of operation for the Royal Gorge Bridge change throughout the summer, but typically you have until around dusk to explore the park.
Recommended minimum age 6 years, recommended minimum weight 50 pounds for this whitewater rafting package. Call us with questions or to check availability. 800-748-2953
